ICTI is a certification distance learning course for translators and interpreters and for professionals whose responsibilities include translation and mediation, e.g. communication experts, international project workers, PR professionals, personal assistants, negotiators and intermediaries.

This course was first developed by the British Council in Bulgaria in 2004 with the support of the University of Manchester.

On completing this course you will:

  • gain confidence in communicating effectively across cultural and language differences;
  • perform better as a mediator and interpreter;
  • improve the quality of your translated documents;
  • broaden your worldview;
  • enhance the reputation of your organisation.

The course offers a combination of theoretical input and manifold practical activities. It adopts a learner-centered approach, using experiential learning, observation and self-reflection as key tools for professional and personal development.
